The release date of Civilization Beyond earth has been announced. It will be released worldwide on the 24th of October. It will be released simultaneously for PC Mac and Linux (unlike with Civ 5 where it came a whole two month later out). Although availability has not yet been clarified it will most likely have a CD download including a digital download from steam. It is not clear if it will be released on the Mac App Store on day one.
Yes it is here finally, well nearly.
Firaxes and 2k are going to release the new version of civ rev on July 2nd, for iOS and android.
The game will be the first civ rev game to come after the release of Civ 5 so hopefully this means that it might share some characteristics with civ 5, a bit like Civ 5 for mobile (yes it actually existed).
The game from what screenshots have released will have updated graphics new game mechanics and so on.
One thing I was very surprised about though was the fact that it was not coming to PS4 and XBOX one, at least for now
So it seems first of all that beyond earth (the new civ game) will be official released somewhere in september, a clear date has not been given yet but judging by the last release dat of 10 September or Civ 5 it will probably be released again early in September.
Then most likely it will be released a bit later for Mac most likely a month later. For OSX the likelihood that it will include snow leopard in the system requirements will in my opinion be quite low.
For Windows it is hard to say but I think that Vista will also be dropped for the new Civ Beyond Earth game.
So in the end my prediction with using facts is:
Windows Release: September 10th System Requirements Windows 7 and higher
OSX Release: October 22nd System Requirements OSX 10.7 and higher
New deals for Civ 5 and Brave New world have gotten discounts from the game reseller GameAgent, the prices both of Civ 5 and Brave New World have been decreased by 75%.
The sale includes a couple of other games such as BioShock Infinite.
So hi all and a belated happy new year!
So I was wondering about something, it occurred to me that every major release of civ happened about every 4-5 years so we might hopefully be expecting some nice news from the guys at Firaxes about a complete new Civ game like something that might be called Civilization 6? Maybe, we won’t know for sure but we will most likely again here something from the guys at Firaxes for sure but if it will be about a new expansion pack or a new game we won’t know yet.
First of all Merry Christmas to all of you hope you had great dinner yesterday!
Although the modding community is great in the civ 5 making mods and adding mods in the game I think is quite hard to do (somewhat a similar issue with Minecraft). I think a good way to fix this issue is to add a mod installer in the game menu when you start the game. Now you might think that there is already solution to this… the steam workshop, but as you might already know Civ 5 is available on disk and the Mac app store where such a feature is not included. So how do you think Firaxes could fix this modding issue. Post it in the comments below
I have started playing a bit of civ 5 recently again and I have found out something very annoying which has made the game in some sense unplayable. Every time I reach the Modern or Future era it seams that the game crashes. It might be just that my save file is corrupted or something in that essence but it also could be a widespread bug in the game.
If you have been getting similar issues comment below.
Today I would like to talk about something that generally annoys me. Me and a couple of my friends were trying to play a game of civ together with each other. All of us had Mac running the same version OSX 10.8.5, most of us had the game from the app store except one of us, he bought it from steam. Anyway we though because we are all using macs on the same platform playing multiplayer with the Steam version and Mac app store would just work. Well it did not you cant even host a game with each other. And I do find it quite annoying that just because they are from different stores they cant work together.
Firaxes just recently put civilization 5 and all of its DLC’s at 75% sale which means it is at 10 dollars!
So if you don’t have civ 5 yet or you want a couple of DLC’s now is the time to to get them.
Recently there came a new update to civ rev which ads multiplayer support which is a feature which I have been waiting for since the release of the game 5 years ago. Also they have added something interesting, just like with civ 5 on the mac app store they have added in app purchases. Such as wonders new units etc, so could there be a chance that there will be soon to come expansion packs for Civ rev?
What is your opinion on it?
